Pocket Bag Air Filters are typically used as a secondary or final filter used after a pleated filter. Bag air filters, often referred to as bag filters and pocket filters, come in five levels of efficiencies; 40-45%,60-65%, 80-85%,90-95% and above 95%- or MERV 8,11,13,14,and15 ratings.
The filter is made with pieces of media, sealed together to form pockets. Each bag air filter can have a specified number of pockets, whether they be 3 pocket bag filter, or 4/ 6 /8/10 pocket bag filter, the pockets themselves can vary in length. With these combinations of pockets and lengths, many surface areas sizes can be created. Generally, a larger surface area will give you better Dust Holding Capacity and longer service life of the filter.
Air filter performance is measured by dust holding capacity and efficiency. Greater dust holding capacity means longer service life and lower operating costs. Greater efficiency means cleaner air and reduced maintenance costs. The Smith Bag Filters excel in both of these performance characteristics. We have MERV 14, MERV 13, MERV 11, and MERV 9 available in both Synthetic and Fiberglass.
