Principle
The air is drawn in using the fan (motor + impeller) inside the filter unit of the FFU fan. The absorbed air is filtered by the HEPA (High Efficiency Filter) or ULPA (Ultra High Efficiency Filter) filter below the FFU to filter out the large particles of dust in the air, and finally the fresh air is sent to the clean area at an even speed.

Composition
Cabinet The material commonly used is galvanised aluminium alloy coated steel, aluminium alloy and stainless steel. The role of one is to support the fan and the air guide ring, the second is to support the flow guide.
Deflector plate A balancing device for air flow, built into the interior of the box, around the underside of the fan.
Blower Available in single AC (AC/1Phase), DC (EC/1Phase) and triple AC (AC/3Phase).
Control components For AC FFU, five-speed governors or infinitely variable governors are commonly used; for DC systems, the control chip is embedded inside the motor and is controlled remotely with the help of special control software, computers, control gateways and network lines.

Features

1, Flexible and easy to replace, install and move

FFU is self-powered, and is self-contained modular, matching filters are easy to replace, so it is not restricted by the area; in the clean plant, it can be partitioned and controlled according to needs, replaced and moved as required.

2, Negative pressure ventilation
This is a unique feature of FFU. As it provides static pressure itself, the clean room is under positive pressure in relation to the outside world, so that particles from outside do not leak into the clean area, making sealing easy and safe.
3, Shorter construction period
The use of FFUs eliminates the need for ductwork and installation, shortening the construction period.
4, Reduced running costs
Although the initial investment is higher than using duct ventilation when choosing FFU, it is outstandingly energy-efficient and maintenance-free in later operation.
5, Space saving
Compared to other systems, the FFU system occupies less floor height in the air supply static pressure box, and basically does not occupy the clean room space.

Uses
The independent structure of the fan filter unit allows it to be adjusted at any time to compensate for the lack of mobility of the clean room, thus solving the disadvantage that the production process is not suitable for adjustment.
Because the maintenance structure of the clean room is generally made of metal wall plates, the layout cannot be changed at will after it is built, but because the production process is constantly updated, the original cleanliness layout of the plant cannot meet the needs of the new process, resulting in frequent changes to the clean plant due to product changes, which is a huge waste of financial and material resources.
However, by increasing or decreasing the number of FFUs, the cleanliness layout of the room can be adjusted locally to meet the changes in the process, and the FFUs come with their own power, air outlets and lamps, thus saving a lot of investment. This is almost impossible to achieve the same effect for a centralised air supply system.
