Pocket air filters belong to medium-efficiency filters, with filtration grades ranging from G4 (coarse) to F9 (sub-high efficiency) (EN779/ISO 16890 standard). They are mainly used as pre-protection for medium-efficiency filters or high-efficiency filters in air conditioning systems. Its core performance characteristics are as follows:
1.Filtration efficiency and classification
-G4-F6 (coarse to medium efficiency) : Mainly used for intercepting particles ≥5μm (such as pollen and dust), with an efficiency of approximately 35% to 90% (ASHRAE 52.2).
-F7-F9 (medium-high efficiency to sub-high efficiency) : It can filter particles ≥1μm (such as bacteria and smoke dust), with an efficiency of 85% to 95% (for 0.4μm particles).
2. Large dust holding capacity & long service life
- Multi-bag structure (usually 4 to 12 bags) : It increases the filtration area, reduces air resistance, and has a dust holding capacity 2 to 3 times higher than that of panel filters, thus extending the replacement cycle.
- Filter material: Anti-fracture synthetic fibers or glass fibers are adopted.
3. Low wind resistance & energy saving
The initial pressure drop is approximately 30 to 150Pa (depending on the number of bags and air volume), the increase in air resistance is gentle, and the long-term operating energy consumption is relatively low.
4. Structural design advantages
- Detachable bag frame: Metal or ABS material frame, supporting repeated replacement of filter bags, reducing maintenance costs.
5. Application Scenarios
- Central air conditioning fresh air system: Pre-filtering protects the high-efficiency filter at the rear end (such as in hospitals and shopping malls).
- Pharmaceutical and food workshops: Medium-efficiency filtration (used in conjunction with high-efficiency filters).
- Industrial coating, electronics factories: Intercept dust, paint mist and other particulate matter.
- Commercial buildings and data centers: Air purification pretreatment.
